What to do if religious sentiments are hurt on social media and post objectionable posts

Answer By law4u team

Hurting religious sentiments and posting objectionable posts on social media can be a legal offence. In India, it is included under section 295A or 295B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for hurting religious feelings. Under this, if a person hurts religious sentiments, he can face a fine.

Answer By Ayantika Mondal

Dear Client, as per your query, if the content on the internet is offending religious sentiments, immediately report the content to the website, and it will be removed. If the content is serious, malicious, or inciting, immediately report it to your nearest cybercrime police station or cybercrime.gov.in. Take screenshots of the content and refer to Section 299 of the BNS (Deliberate and Malicious Acts to Outrage Religious Feelings). I hope this answer is helpful. In case of further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank You.
