जनवरी 2022 में मेरे अंतिम ज्ञान अद्यतन के अनुसार, भारत में विवाह की कानूनी उम्र इस प्रकार थी: लड़कों के लिए: भारत में लड़कों की शादी के लिए कानूनी न्यूनतम आयु 21 वर्ष है। लड़कियों के लिए: भारत में लड़कियों की शादी के लिए कानूनी न्यूनतम आयु 18 वर्ष है। ये आयु सीमाएं बाल विवाह निषेध अधिनियम, 2006 में निर्दिष्ट हैं, जो बच्चों (निर्दिष्ट आयु से कम उम्र के व्यक्तियों) के विवाह पर रोक लगाती है और बाल विवाह को रोकने और बच्चों के अधिकारों की रक्षा के लिए उपाय प्रदान करती है। यह ध्यान रखना महत्वपूर्ण है कि भारत में बाल विवाह अवैध है, और ऐसे विवाहों के आयोजन या उनमें भाग लेने वालों को कानूनी परिणाम भुगतने पड़ सकते हैं।
